Cover Options
There are two options for the level of cover you can take.
- Full Accident, Sickness and Unemployment
- Accident and Sickness
If you become involuntarily unemployed or have an accident or an illness which means you are unable to work for at least 30 days, your loan repayments will be made until you are able to return to work. If you do not feel that you need the Unemployment cover you can take the Accident and Sickness cover only.
Eligibility
You can apply for this insurance at the time that you apply to No1 CopperPot for a personal loan however, you are able to enrol to the plan at a later date if you wish. It is important to note that the unemployment cover starts 60 days after your loan is granted and you must also meet the following requirements:
- Be age 18 or over and under 65.
- Be the person named in the Credit Agreement.
- Be working in paid employment and have been continuously employed for at least the previous 6 months.
- Be a current member of No1 CopperPot Credit Union.
- If you are on holiday from your employment, or on statutory maternity leave you will still meet these conditions.
- If you are not working at your employment because of injury or sickness you can apply for cover when you return to full and active employment.
- If you know that you will become unemployed when you apply for this insurance, a claim will not be paid for that unemployment.
